Kenneth Lester, CA, MPA

For the past Twenty years, Ken has been transforming physician networks across the Country. As President and Vice President of large, physician networks, Ken is accomplished in building and managing large network and health models successfully. Ken has evolved physician networks to become the top producers in all major Press Ganey categories including physician engagement, patient satisfaction and quality. By introducing complex delivery models, Ken was able to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve patient engagement, while allowing the physicians and advanced practice providers to focus on the patient. Ken has introduced the Comprehensive Primary Care Initiative (CPCI), resulting in CMS funding for a complete population health model. Trained as a CPA, he knows the value of managing the cost of care, and understands the elements and processes required to bring networks and practices into a break even or better performance. With a newly designed predictive analytics tool, the Caduceus team, with Ken’s leadership will identify the gaps in cost of care and will provide the road map back to improved financial performance. Ken has converted two large physician networks to EPIC and knows how to prepare a network for a successful IT conversion. Ken understands the value of growing a network or practice, and has been successful in doubling and tripling the size of the networks and practices that he has managed. With a primary care market share program, along with a supporting specialist of choice program, referrals stay within the network, supporting growth, while assuring an integrated care experience. William R. Johnson, MBA

William (Bill) has thirty years of diversified experience in health care finance and accounting with skills in practice management, software development, data analytics, financial analysis and modeling, information technology, project management, and operations. Most recently Bill was involved with the conversion and successful implementation of the practice management and revenue cycle system. Bill worked directly with the practice managers in planning, designing and implementing the conversion. This included requirements gathering; user task analysis; system testing; conversion strategies; data warehousing and database design; report writer; and application training.

Bill’s experience includes eighteen years working with practice managers and providers in building and maintaining practice optimization by developing departmental KPI reports using financial and data analytics modeling. Bill is instrumental in developing and implementing practice improvement initiatives which involved operations research; process improvement (direct patient care); strategic planning; financial projections; cost benefit analysis; budgeting; audits; cash flow forecasting; legal compliance; and patient satisfaction. Additionally, he was integral in analyzing and evaluating revenue cycle processes and procedures which resulted in enhanced operational efficiencies and a significant reduction in AR days collection. Bill graduated from the University of Utah in 1990 with a Master’s degree in Business Administration and in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He graduated Cum Laude and a member of the Dean’s List, and resides in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Gwendolyn Gomez

Gwendolyn Gomez stands out in healthcare data analysis with a track record at leading institutions like Weill Cornell Medicine and New York Presbyterian. As a Senior Research Analyst at Weill Cornell since November 2022, she’s made strides by developing the Clinical Feedback Dashboard, improving decision-making in Emergency Medicine.

At New York Presbyterian, she boosted patient satisfaction and aided in achieving Magnet certification for the hospital through her quality assurance work. Her earlier roles at Ice Edge and Goldman Sachs involved creating dashboards and managing fund performance metrics, while her initial research work significantly raised employee satisfaction at the Polynesian Cultural Center.

Gwendolyn is skilled in Excel, Visual Basic, Python, SQL, and Tableau, and has co-authored a publication on emergency department discharge processes. Her approach combines deep knowledge with practical applications, aiming to enhance patient care and efficiency with data.

Nathan Garlock, MBA

Nathan Garlock, MBA, has been actively engaged in consulting for independent healthcare providers and health systems since 1990. Early in his career, William established a methodology to determine the value of medical practices for purchase by hospitals, health systems and private practitioners. He also directed the physician recruitment activities for a seven-hospital health system and structured physician recruitment packages to comply with federal regulations. William is our content expert in the area of physician productivity compensation, working with our clients to develop sustainable models that provide fair market compensation for primary care and specialty physician groups. He developed and works to implement the firm's Financial and Statistical Model, Gap Dashboard, Fee Analyzer, web feedback surveys and is the creative intelligence behind many of the Halley Consulting tools and models that facilitate performance measurement and improvement. His client base includes regional and national health systems, community hospitals and private practice physicians. In addition, he oversees the firm's knowledge management operations and infrastructure. He was a contributor to The Business of Healthcare (Praeger, 2007). William coauthored, with Marc Halley, "Physician Compensation: Five Mistakes, One Solution," published in HFM magazine in July, 2011, and was a co-presenter at the 2011 HFMA ANI in Orlando. William received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Utah in psychology and anthropology and a Master of Business Administration degree from Brigham Young University. William is a resident of Westerville, Ohio.
